Ok, I don't know about the rest of you but I must have watched that commercial (on line) about 250 times now and everytime I watch it I get goosebumps (yes they are contagious with the commercial). If you are on the fence about any of the vehicles in that commercial then after watching it, there should be no more worries. Chevrolet did an AWESOME job with that ad. (I watched 4 times back to back just before posting this. Yeah I like it THAT much.)

The SSR is unique, and I gotta tell ya, that would make a awesome street rod. SoCal Speed Shop threw a Radix Intercooled Blower, added bumpers, different wheels and a unique paint scheme. AWESOME.

The Colorado? hummina humina!!! The Vette? Hey this is a family board!!! If this is the future of Chevrolet, this is going to be an AWESOME ride!!! (thank the good lord, cause I would hate to have to add another logo to my checkered flag Chevy Emblem tattoo. :-) )

If the cars can live up to the HYPE great, they usually don't.

The vette is GREAT,the rest I don't care for but I'm sure they all have a market.

How come modifying a mustang to keep up with F-Bodies was a no no and a Joke, bur modifying an UGLY,OVERWEIGHT,YUPPY MOBILE to run with a Lightning is awesome????

nah, Dougie likes the new Mustang. He does.

The SSR is targeted at a segment with different tastes than us. I see it as an extension of the segment created by the P/T Cruiser.

We need GM to sell lots and lots of everything. The more money they make, the easier it is to fund the niche vehicle programs.

The car commercial is very very good. It will be a classic. The Vette, and to a much lesser extent, the SSR are the only new vehicles in Chevy's lineup that appeal to me though. And the SSR is really not something I want but it is a performance vehicle at least.

I hope GM get's real healthy....... but we still need that affordable muscle car.I hope the 5th gen Camaro is announced soon.

Sorry Doug !!!

I was talking in general if you remember how things were back then,,,,,

I know and remember that you had a very open mind when it came to cars and you were not a brand loyal zombie.

I just really don't like the SSR,as I didn't and still don't like the Prowler[Yuppie Mobile par excellence]

The PT is probably a lot more functional than the SSR,,,,

The late 90's Pontiac BANSHEE inspired F-Body wagon would have been a much more practical and appealing vehicle to bring to market, but what do I know [Would have been a KILLER flower delivery vehicle]!!!!!!!!!

Roger wilco that Timelord.

I have owned Chevys, Mopars and a couple of Toyotas. So I am not totally brand loyal. I just like performance cars! And trucks!

For the record, I lvoe that commercial especially the C6. The SSR is cool bit not for me until the put some power in it.

I really like the new Mustang. What I am really waiting for is the Gen 5 Camaro and the C6 Z06!!

I agree, it's an awsome commercial, ...it's one of those that 'gets in your head' and you remember it (good marketing if you asked me). We're a bunch of muscle car enthusiasts, so it's no surprise we aren't going to like every car in a manufacturer's lineup. I do however think the C6 is awsome looking, and for Chevrolet to do the commercial covering multiple product lines/interests was a smart move. Not every car appeals to everyone, but the commercial as a whole will appeal to more people. Not only that, ...it's just a cool commercial [Big Grin]

That commercial rocks. The Viper guys are not happy because they used "Magic Carpet Ride" in a Viper commercial a few years ago. haha
