I went and had my eyes examined tonight and found out that my pressure readings were suspiciously high and now have to go see a Glaucoma Specialist next week.

Heyyyy, sugar....don't worry! My dad had glaucoma for years & years, but it was EXTREMELY controllable with some drops he put in every day! You'll be fine!!
Plus, they only said it was "suspiciously high".....that doesn't mean you HAVE it.....

Thanks Millie, Brian. Guess it was the shock of it that really got me down and knowing it could lead to blindness really hit me hard. Its hard to believe at one time I had better than perfect vision but what can you do.
True the Doctor said they are suspicious reading and didn't come out and say I had it but they are "suspiciously" high and needs to be checked out. And I agree it is treatable and can be kept in check which is what I will definately do if I do have the early stages.
Thank you for your concern and I will keep you all up to date after my appointment is scheduled and the tests are done.

I'm sure it'll be fine but hey, look at the bright side... don't they prescribe marijuana for that?

Thanks Mark. I like your positive attitude and I need all the positive I can get. I am still waiting fora call from the eye doctor about my glaucoma exam.
In answering your question I believe they do that for some glaucoma cases..........in my instance if I do have it they might just prescribe eyedrops. But your idea may be better . Just kidding of course. Posts: 2841 | From: Westland, MI | Registered: Apr 2003
