home here in the Colorado Springs area. We're pretty nervous about this, since this would be our first home. Any comments or suggestions would be helpful at this time. Thank you.

PS: Claim the GARAGE!, ...get it before Donna needs space to store things. [Big Grin]

I would get a home inspection especially if it is an older house. Your loan may require it anyway. An appraisal will also bee needed by the loan company.Get some comps from your area what other simular houses sell for. Check out the school system if you plan on having your kids attend there. [Smile]

Location, location, location! We learned that the hard way.....also, try to have the LEAST expensive home on the block....sure helps with resale. Good luck & have fun!!! [Smile]

I've never had one but the brother insisted on a "Home Warranty" when he bought his house. Something to think about.

Cy is right locarion is everything. We had 2 homes go up in the last year and the longest it took was 10 days to sell because 2 different peopls were bidding on it. The 1st went in 2 days.

Thank you all for the advice. Kevin, I got the space in the garage claimed. Though it might be a tight squeeze with the Tahoe and Camaro in there, but I'll make it work.

As for the other suggestions, I do believe we did a good job. For starters it's a new home, so I have the warranty portion covered. Excellent advice on getting the cheapest in the area, that makes so much sense. A couple of the houses (nearby) sold between 208k and 214k so we are well under that (not by much though). Donna and I really like it, which is what I think, is the most important aspect.

When it comes to buying homes, we are both so picky, everything was built to our liking and it was a perfect fit. I can’t begin to tell you all how many homes we looked at; none of them fit “the mold”. I wasn’t overjoyed with the garage, wished it was a three stall, but it's much better than what I have now. Living in military housing has been so cramped and we are expanding as a family faster than the walls are. We wont close for a couple more months yet, but we are all excited.

This purchase may have put my phase II GMMG package on hold till next year though, but there’s a couple Roush Mustangs on our circle that I can pick on; that should keep me entertained for a while.

Again, thank you all. We’ll post picks soon.
