Awwwwwwwww.....*sniff*......that's SOOOO pretty!!! And I bet it smells nice, too....
We've got the "FAKE" gas SH**....and I bet it hasn't been turned on 4 times this "winter" (and I use that term loosely... )
There's nothing prettier than snow falling outside with a fire in the fireplace inside.....I've actually seen that ....um.....maybe three or four times!!

I have several of those a year in this season! Even when its not snowing outside, a nice warm fire on a chilly night is a great way to snuggle up with someone you love, and enjoy a quiet evening at home.

Well, since our heater went out this afternoon, I guess we will be spending the night at the in-laws. Luckily they're right across the road! Supposed to be down-right frigid tonight...in the lower 20's! SHEESH! At least they have a real fireplace...has the little blower thingee on it too so that it stays REAL warm...I'll be sleeping with the dogs right under it! Talk to y'all tomorrow!

Well, the last couple of days with this freak ice storm around here that had tree limbs (and whole trees) snapping off and taking out power lines I'd have given plenty for even the FAKE SH**. No power for two days, I don't have a generator, no fireplace, and NOWHERE to get kerosene, and mid-20s temps! AGGH! And every hotel that even had power for miles was full. Needless to say, it has been a pretty nasty couple of days here in the normally mild south! The house got down to around 40 degrees F before the power got turned back on, so there was a lot of sweaters, candles and blankets for those two days. I know some of you in the great cold north would give just about anything for those balmy temps, but it was the darndest thing. We don't have much of anything in the way of snow removal or dealing with hard winter weather. I've also NEVER seen thunder and lightning with freezing rain before. Never!

One good thing about the "FAKE" gas SH**.... is that I don't even have to get off the couch. Where I'm all snuggly and warm. Just push the remote and sha-sam, fire.
