Author Topic: VIRUS ALERT - DO NOT OPEN BOUNCED EMAILS blkragss02 3rd Gear Member # 1801 posted                       If you will received a "bounced" email. Delete it. It contains a virus. IF you click the attachment to see what email bounced, you will be infected. Subject - New Virus called W32/Mydoom@MM Audience - All Users Description - There is a new virus called W32/Mydoom@MM which has recently appeared. End users will recieve email from various senders with the different subject lines including: - Error - Status - Server Report - Mail Transaction Failed - Mail Delivery System - hello - hi The body of the email also varies and so do the types of attachments. If you open one of the attachments, Notepad will open a file with random unreadable characters. Your registry will also be updated with files. The virus is then spread via email to other machines. If you don't have any you can get a 1 year subscription from Microsoft and Computer Associates. go to www.microsoft.com and click on the 123 protect your computer.
