Well, I finally did it, got myself another hobby. I bought a new HPI ready to run nitro powered remote control car. I also bought 2 Camaro SS bodies to go along with it. 1 to test with, 1 for show. I didn't like the wheels it came with so I already ordered a new set. The kit I bought came with a BMW M3 body, so I will learn to drive it with that. These things are really cool. I have bought 4 magazines to read up on them before I bought the car. You can do a zillion upgrades. I even saw where they had a nitrous system for them. [Big Grin] They say the car will run 54mph plus out of the box. I saw and article on one that ran 73 mph out of the box, no mods. I will put a few pics on my webshots account when I get it going. The actual SS kit was discontinued, but the body wasn't. It is a 98+ body with a choice of 2 spoilers, I am doing the stock one. I am like an excited child right now, can't wait. There are a few indoor thatck around here so I will be able to run it quite often.

You must have the RTR version. I bought the kit version and that was so cool to build it.

The RTR version only goes about 35 MPH and the kit version goes about 43 MPH, stock...

There are many mods like you say, a lot of aluminum parts, but it adds weight, but looks cool.

The stock tires suck, I can't get traction, kinda like my real Camaro SS. I have different gears to make it go faster, but they won't go in until I get some real sticky tires.

Here's a link to some pics of mine:

If you do a search through the forum, you'll see several people here have R/C cars. Cy and Steve have some, but they wrecked 'em and can't play anymore! [Frown]

The one that I bought is a brand new model with a BMW M3 body. It's called the RS4 3 evo edition. The RC magazines call it a great improvement over the original rs4 3 kits. Much faster, and it comes with a 2 speed tranny and electric start just to name a few.

The kit with the camaro body is no longer available, but you can buy the body seperate fo about 20 bucks. I bought mine at hobbypeople.net
Spent a little over 300. You can buy one for alot less, but I didn't want to buy one and then wish I had gotten a little better one.
