I'm driving home in the pouring rain, right? The entrance lane onto I-30 is VERY short, ending abruptly in a lovely concrete partition; there is a car behind me; as I enter the freeway, there appears an 18-wheeler beside me COVERING me with water.....I can't see a damthing....I KNOW the entrance lane is about to end, but how much farther? ....can't slam on the brakes....car behind will hit me....can't change lanes cuz 18-wheeler is right there....
Fortunately, I managed to slow down JUST enough for the truck to pass and without the car behind hitting me.....if I hadn't been driving this stretch every day and had a general idea of just how short that lane is, I woulda been up $hit creek and into that concrete!!
I need a drink.....

I always say, you set a similar satisfaction from driving in a snow storm and driving down the 1/4 mile, you get a sense of accomplisment...but in two different ways (and speeds!!!)

Yessir! A beater for when it's rainy, when it's windy, when it's above 80 degrees, and when there's an occasional snowflake.....
It's killin' my soul to drive him every day, rain or shine, and to put all those miles on him (50/day)....but....$hit happens!!

I was going to say that little incident probably took ten years off your life. But since you are a woman, I am sure any mention of aging before your time might put me in the dog house with you.

You ever see a set of Yokahama A008R's. Might as well be slicks. And those bald Kumo's I got on the back aren't much better. I wonder why only the backs are bald.....Hmmm?
