73 days till we legally "exceed" the posted speed limit on (Texas) US285 from Ft. Stockton to Sanderson and back!!! 59 miles each way! [Big Grin]

The handcrafted rollbar mod begins March 13, 2004, then the splitter, and THEN we will be seein' the high side of 170(+)mph!!!!

Big Bend Open Road Race, the most challenging road race in North America!!

Come see us race, and we will be responsible for all the entertainment - TEXAS style.

Here's a little taste of what I am talking about. This is video of the John Foster West Texas Open Road Race from October 2003. This is from Rankin Texas to Midland, on US349.

The car is a semi-stock 1999 Cobra, with Bassani exhaust, sub-frame connectors, and a KB spring kit. I am moving up in speed class with the SS!!

This is taken at a radar post, with a trap speed of 156 mph!!

Rankin to Midland Texas!!!

[Cool] That sounds exciting! I'll have to check out the movie clip at work, my dial-up at home is too slow. If I started now, at 6:15, it would be 9 before I could see it! [Roll Eyes]

These are even better!!!

Check out car #8, the 1996 Camaro SS, driven by Todd Carpenter and navigated by Scotty Cardwell...

Race MPGs

This car won the Unlimted Class and set a new course record with an average speed of 165.24MPH, thats for 119 miles BTW!!!!

His video shows him with a trap speed of 188MPH!!

For some reason the forum would not let me post directly into this thread!! [Mad]
