Once I was happy but now I'm forlorn I drive an old car that is tattered and torn; Passed on the road to fret and to mourn, Upstaged by a maid in her truck. The car that I had was handsome quite so; I drove it no matter what weather might blow But now I am passed as if I drive slow By yuppies in huge SUV's.
Oh, they fly through the rain with the greatest of ease Those daring yuppies in their huge SUV's No storm do they fear it's like they're on skis Our roads they have purloined away!
They play with us all like a cat with a mouse 'Cause what they drive is as big as a house Perhaps they are better described as a louse But people buy them all the same. Oh, they smile from their perch at the cars down below As they fly by like a dart from a bow They blow us a kiss and holler "Bravo!" As they look down their nose from above.
Oh, they fly through the snow with the greatest of ease Those daring yuppies in their huge SUV's No storm do they fear it's like they're on skis Our roads they have purloined away!
