I was wondering who all is going to meet in Waco (Tx) on the 28th, and who's interested in dynoing their car. I've been working with Dave at Nitro Dave's and I just need a headcount to see what kind of deal he'll give us.
So far I've got twobratss, Millie, and myself. As soon as get the complete list I'll get back with times and prices.
Looking forward to it!!!

If the weather is right, I'm planning on driving down from Amarillo. Is there a post with the specific meeting location?

Welllllll.....I'm planning to get to Waco early Saturday a.m. and I was looking at staying at the Waco Hilton, which is off University-Parks Drive (map upon request); however, I think them2bratSS are staying at the Marriott....which I could do too....doesn't matter to me; don't know where Mr. fenton23 is staying;
Maybe we'll all see this post & git organized!!!!

What would ya'll wanna go there for? 90 minutes south is a decent race track, not to mention the Fightin Texas Aggie 12th Man. WHOOP!
Seriously, on the 28th? One of my best friends is turning 21, and we are having a party in his honor, so I probably wont be able to drive after that. Bwahahahahaha.

Hey again, y'all! From what I could tell on expedia.com, the two hotels are about 2, maybe 3 blocks apart (the Hilton and Residence Inn). We won't be THAT far apart if you stayed at the Hilton.
We reserved a room for $89.99 at the Residence Inn. When I checked www.hilton.com, their cheapest room was $109.00, but you could probably find a better rate somewhere else if you prefer the Hilton.

Wish we could make it ........... not this time, but maybe later on in the year ......... y'all have a wonderful time and think a few thoughts about us "Texans-in-exile"

Hope this helps!
Good work, kiddo! The only reason I considered the Hilton was cuz you can walk from the restaurants to your room....and with my grape kool-aid experience in BG, that was a necessity..... ....however.....Ed won't be here.....maybe that won't be an issue.....

I hope so!!! Then you can meet all of us AND Mr. Pofomoco!!

Bad news on the dyno. Dave was having some scheduling problems because this is his busiest time of the year and just couldn't work us in. We'll have to come up with our own entertainment, which probably won't be too hard with Millie around.
Millie, are you still staying at the Hilton? What's the plan? When is everyone arriving?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I figure we'll be there around noon. Since I don't know a good place to meet, or what we'll do for entertainment, I'll leave that up to y'all! Has anyone seen the forecast for Saturday in Waco yet?

Yup, the rest of the country has cheaped out and produces their Dr Pepper with corn syrup. Only the Dublin plant still produces it with Imperial Cane Sugar. I collect anything Dr Pepper I can find, especially older stuff. I have a nice little Dr Pepper clock collection along with other premiums and goodies. I have a Dr Pepper vending machine from the 60's in my kitchen where a refrigerator should be. My Dear, I would LOVE some real stuff from Dublin. I would gladly reward you with some of that grown-up kool aid for which you are so fond (or anything special from Oregon that you can't get in Texas if you have anything in particular in mind).
hmmm...this gives me an idea for a NEW THREAD.Posts: 7198 | From: Near Portland, Oregon, USA | Registered: Feb 2000

We're staying at:
Marriott Residence Inn 501 University Parks Drive Waco, Texas (254)714-1386
We're gonna get there around 2:00ish.....gawk at each other's cars.....cruise around....visit the Dr. Pepper Museum??(for Ms. HTWLSS who collects that stuff)....whatever else y'all can think of.....dinner.....hang out....spend the nite.....go home Sunday....
Probly not the most thrilling trip you've been on, but the purpose is to get to know the people that will be cruising to BG in Sept.
Here's a map of the general area....the Residence Inn is a couple blocks from the Hilton and there are some cool restaurants across the street from the Hilton.

...and of course there's always the Texas Ranger Museum. It's got all the stuff you'd expect, guns, saddles, Old West artifacts PLUS the world's largest hairball...cut the stomach of a buffalo. It looks like a hairy basketball!! Posts: 129 | From: Austin, TX, USA | Registered: Jan 2001

ohmyGAWWWWD!!! How COULD we miss THAT?????? As an owner of 5 cats, I am ESPECIALLY interested in viewing any and all hairballs that are larger than what my li'l punkins produce!!! ....definitely a "must see"!!!
.....seriously, I haven't been to the museum in YEARS....it's quite interesting!!
NOTE: Dr. Pepper Museum closes at 4:00 pm; TX Ranger Hall of Fame closes at 5:00 pm
.....best we do that first before we street-race, huh???

They have caffeine free.
(I usually drink Diet Dr Pepper, but I'd do the sugar if it's the real stuff!)
Take lots of pics of the Dr Pepper museum for me so I can live vicariously through y'all. Posts: 7198 | From: Near Portland, Oregon, USA | Registered: Feb 2000
