Went to see the specialist today and was informed that the pressure is at 20 from 16 two weeks ago. I was pretty upset when he said this but he did say that it fluctuates during the day and said it wasn't bad.

I did get eyedrops to use for the next few weeks and have to go back in 3 to get checked again.

Man what a bummer !!!!!!! [Frown]

I once had a reading around 26, but it was a one time thing. I am normally in the 15-20 range. Just keep up on it...

Krista I have had laser surgery on both of my eyes to relieve the glaucoma pressure. I had readings of 24 in both eyes but got the left one down to 16 three weeks ago but now it is back up to 20 again. The right eye is also reading 20 which is okay but not where I should be which is in the mid-teens. I got eyedrops from the specialist yesterdy and go back in three weeks for another check.

This glaucoma isn't going to rob me of my eyesight as I am going to fight it until the end.

Sorry about your eyes Ken. My Grandparents had the same thing and had to put the drops in all the time. I also am prone to this I am told [Frown] Just try to keep thinking positively. Maybe this is just a slight set-back and you'll be doing better soon.

Thank you all. I will keep fighting this all the way and do whatever it takes to keep it under control. The Boss was a smarta$$ this morning when I told him I had to go back in three weeks for another checkup. To him its like I am doing this on purpose. What a jerk.

My eyes are bothering me somewhat today but I will continue with the drops until futher notice. Got the fingers crossed that this will do it.

Thanks again for your backing. [Big Grin]

Get a note from your Dr. every time if that's what it takes to prove you're at eye appts. Don't give in to the Boss's attitude....your eyes are worth more than his dumbass comments.

Ken,

Sorry to hear the pressure is going back up. Sounds as though you have the right attitude though. Your boss can piss off, as someone else noted he's not worth it and your eyesight is way more important. Are you able to get appts early in the day or late in the afternoon so that you don't have to miss much time at work? That may help keep him off your case as well as the documentation Teri mentioned.

As cliche as it sounds, and it's easier to say than do, try to relax and not stress out. That isn't going to help your situation and may even contribute to the increase.

I'll keep positive thoughts for you and send them your way. Please keep us updated.

Thank you all very much for your prayers and wishes. I wish I could find the words to convey exactly what I am feeling at this very moment having all of you behind me.

Everytime I have an appointment setup I show him the note the Doctor gives me but his attitude was inconsiderate and shallow. I told him I will do everything in my power to get this pressure down. And if he can let others who take time off for fake sicknesses or whatever and not say anything to them, then he knows he is completely out of line with me as I am there everyday and giving over 100%.

Thanks again everyone and I will beat this once and for all. Your friendship is truly and greatly appreciated. Hugs to all of you. [Big Grin] [Cool]

sorry to read about the setback with your eyes.

Follow the doctors advice, but try to some
research on your own. There may be other
methods that others have tried that would work
with you. The internet is a marvelous tool for
that.

We're with you.

This may help:
"One of the most important things to remember while making the adjustment to having glaucoma is that most cases are managed with medication and/or surgery and that most people with glaucoma do not go blind."

It's from the Glaucoma Research Foundation page....lots of good info on this site.....like these treatment options, as well as treatment advances.

Here's a great site that is from the largest glaucoma hospital in the country, The William A. and Anna V. Goldberg Glaucoma Service and Research Center at Wills Hospital in Philadelphia. Lots of info and support here.

Now that's enough reading to keep ya off the streets & outta the pool-halls........ [Wink] [Big Grin] [Razz]
