Good morning! Looking forward to a nice weekend!
A little boy wanted $50 very badly and prayed for weeks, but nothing happened. Finally he decided to write God a letter requesting the $50.
When the postal authorities received the letter addressed to God, USA, they decided to forward it to the President of the United States as a joke. The President was so amused, that he instructed his secretary to send the little boy a $20 bill. The President thought this would appear to be a lot of money for the boy.
The little boy was delighted with the $20 bill, and decided to write a thank you note to God, which read:
"Dear God: Thank you very much for sending the money. However, I noticed that you sent it through the White House in Washington, DC ...and those jerks deducted $30.00 in taxes." Posts: 641 | From: northern Delaware | Registered: Jul 2002

Morning all .......... sneaking up on half way ........... have a good one
The picture of the day ............ it's not a photograph, rather a painting ............. a painting titled "Y2kaboom" by Kenny Youngblood, the noted ex-funny car painter and auto artist ........... the painting is of the "event" that broke two vertabrae in Eddie Hill's back and ended his 40 year career in Houston in 1999 ........... I'll quote from 'Blood's web site
"This image represents a monumental piece of drag racing history as NHRA announced the 90% nitro rule for the year 2000 season. Scenes like this may never be seen again"
"To drag racing purists, this rare but spectacular out-of-chassis-motor experience is without comparison, and one that is exclusive to drag racing.
Both Gary Scelzi and Eddie Hill performed this feat (Hill attaining it not once, but twice) during the 1999 season. I knew that (1) the edge of the straightline nitro envelope had been reached and (2) that I had to get this on canvas.
As engine builder John Rodeck puts it, "we call these things "events", when everything is running fine and then something (the event) happens .... then you have what amounts to eight four inch pipe bombs"."
My thoughts ..........Eddie had suffered another explosion just like this one the week before in Dallas ........ that explosion severely "rung his bell" and gave him a concussion ............... this explosion broke his back and ended his career ......... look closely at this painting (which is reproduced from a photograph) ........ you can still see the plugs glowing inside the heads and the fuel still pumping from the severed lines ............ an amazing piece of art
John
