I was driving home tonight...took my car to work since it was such a nice day. It was bumper to bumper for some reason about 1 mile from Clifton. Clifton is where I got pulled over before for the "excessive noise" and where the cops seem to now frequent. I was driving about 1mph in this bumper to bumper traffic. I get to the railroad tracks and there's a stupid Fairfax Co cop sitting at the General Store facing the direction I was traveling. I go past him at 1mph and on go the lights! I was like what on earth was he pulling me over for?? I hurried to get the radar detector down and pulled down a side street. I asked what on earth I'd done and he said I didn't have a front tag . Mind you also this is about 6:15 and getting dark so he had to of been really looking or else had seen my car before and knew it didnt have the tag.
Anyway...I just got done with these cops at the courthouse on Monday . Whenever I drive my car to work I wont be traveling through Clifton anymore...going a different way even though it will take longer.
Oh well.. just have some bad luck with cops lately and Dorie and Bob were just pulled over in her Comp T/A on Saturday for no front tag and back in November in their vette for the same thing

Ouch. That stinks. Sorry to hear that. I feel your pain though. The one time I was pulled over in the SS the cop asked what I was doing and walked back to his car while I was still talking. Just lost that ticket off the insurance last summer.

Must be the day for people getting pulled over . Campus police got me for no brake lights in the company van.In Michigan with all the NEW laws I could have gotten several tickets Proof of ins, registration, equiptment failure, seat belt .......Lucky I've worked with him for years and he followed me to transportation to drop off the truck.
Clifton does not sound like a friendly town

Sounds like you've been made in Clifton, they are gunning for you! I'd stay clear of them, unless you have another beater car to use.

I guess you've seen this movie enough times.
Sounds like the old west and the sherriff wants you out of town! That sucks! But, you could always mount a front plate. We have too.

Yeah I bet they are on the lookout for me. Well its the last time my car goes through that town. I will go another longer way when I drive it to work. I'm not mounting a plate on my car Especially with the paint job! I might do it on the air deflector.

Carry a box of Donuts and eat one when you get pulled over. Any red blooded officer will drool over the sight and take them for evidence leaving you alone.
.....Unless you are around me then its Bagles and ccccream cheese (No donut shops in Ann Arbor) .

Millie...I had the other plate for the front in the backseat...even told the cop that. He said "thats no place for it". Oh well...I think maybe had I been a man he would've let me go HA HA HA. This morning I drove the escort and going through Clifton in the same spot..but on the other side of the street what do I see?? Flashing blue lights in front of me . It was a different cop with someone pulled over. And you cant go speeding through this "tiny village" because theres a speed bump and then 75ft down train tracks. The town is about 1/4 mile around...thats it.
Ed...I think maybe had I handed him a GQ magazine he would've let me off! HA HAHA. I'll take Bagels with cream cheese also Posts: 340 | From: Woodbridge, VA | Registered: Oct 2000

Thats what was nice about PA. No front Tag. Just another reason for the police to bring money into the state. This is why I put my front tag on. I hate it but I don't want to give the cops another reason to pull me over. Front tags are just a waste of money.

I agree. PA was great! I only got pulled over once my entire life up there!!
Also on a similar note I just realized I had a "freebie" pocket knife thing that came in the mail here at work for someone that no longer works here. I had stuck it in my purse last week. Well I forgot about it being in there and realized now that Monday when my purse went through the detector/xray thing it was in there!!! They never knew it!!

Well..Michelle..just LOOK at your car...it's that "ticket-me-flames" color.
I woudln't put a front plate on either. Did you get a ticket? Did they let you go? Are you able to just pay a fine and keep it off? Maybe just use wire to temorarily tack it on if you have to prove its on the car.
Ahh....its soo nice living in PA...but then again...we cant tint our windows...although I'm doing that this summer!

At BG last year several people did that might want to check. The plate I believe had to be VISABLE at so many feet away. We dont have a front plate so I cant help with the peticulars.

Damn the bad luck. As crazy as this sounds, did you ever think of sending a letter to your local politician or govenor as to why the law is wrong and that putting a tag on the front is nothing more than defacing it. The BS about needing a front tag so they can get red light runners is just that, BS. PA has or is installing red light cameras is parts of Phily and they work or will work just fine with just the rear tag. Remember if the police went after REAL criminals the states would go broke. There's no incentive, money, catching murderers, robbers or rapists.
