Be sure to do a walk of Regent St just off picadilly - Harrods, Hemleys, etc. - fun stores. Just down from there is Trafalgar and then a 10 minute walk to Big Ben and Westminster. The London Eye (big ferris wheel) is neat and well organized so lines are short and it takes about 30 minutes for the trip.

What a coincidence! I just returned yesterday after a 7-day stay myself! Stayed in Mayfair in the thick of things and played tourist. London is an awesome place, lot's of history, architecture, art, pubs, rain. I've never seen so many expensive cars in one place! Too much to see in one week but I'm glad to be home.

I hear ya about the expensive cars!!! I have a few pics of porsches, and a ferrari's and maserati's, etc. I cant belive the presence of Ford is so big there. Hardly any Chevy/Gm cars, although Vauxhall is GM owned adn big over there.
Oh, i'm pretty sad I'm home...I fell in Love with London.Gonna look for a job over there as once you get hired, then that company has to get you a work permit, and then you can start looking for a job. Seems like its a pain to try and work there.

It's the exact same thing the other way around No matter how much I want to I just can't fly over to the US and start working/living there. The only way I know how is to win a green card in the annual lottery. I've been in the drawing since 1995 and still no luck

Just come over on vacation and become an illegal. Hell, everyone south of here does it. There are a couple of places in town where you can get a green card in about 2hrs.

The illegal alien thing is not for me... don't think I can get a desent paying job that way I've done a bit of "illegal work" in the US though. Nothing major. I spent a summer in Mt.Hood, Oregon, almost ten years ago, working as a pipe digger for High Cascade Snowboarding Camp. I didn't get any money out of it, I worked for free. All I got was food, a bed, free beers and a good time. That summer rocked!

In London, its even illegal to go over and hold job interviews and search for jobs with just a Tourist Visa. Sucks you have toget hired with the company first, adn then THEY have to get you a work permit. Most companies wont do that as they have to prove YOU(from another country) is better qualified for the position. I'm still gonna try my hardest! OK! Plan two. Become a Swedish radical, there's a concept, claim the government is repressing you and ask for political asylum.
Isn't it ironic that it was the Europeans migrating to North America that created this country, and now they're the only ones who can't get in.
