I got my oil chgd a few weeks ago and of course forgot to reset it. When the light came on yesterday I did the whole reset thing. I've actually done it about 4 or 5 times. The d@mn light is still coming on. Any ideas or suggestions?

Try this: With the engine off turn the ingnition key to run. push the trip (oil reset) button for 12 seconds. Light should start to flash. When it quits flashing should be good to go.

or

With the engine off turn ingnition key to run and press gas pedal to floor 3 times.

Opie,

I've done the whole 12 second thing about 4 times now. I even double checked my manual about it before leaving work yesterday.

I'll try the alternative with the gas pedal before heading home.

I am not trying to be an A, but make sure the ingnition key is fully forward in the start position. Sometimes people just click it forward but not far enough. Hope that is understandable??

AZ is good today. LOTS of rain yesterday. Thought my car was going to float into the driveway. Planning on going home topless today. [Smile]

I did the whole 12 second thing with the key in both positions. I'll try it and the gas pedal today when I get back in.

Or, get a piece of black electrical tape.... [Smile]

j/k. I used the 3 times on the pedal method and it worked just fine. If it still persists, talk to your mechanic, there may be something else wrong....

[Razz]

I did the gas pedal and the 12 second thing. Seems to have worked.

Wigged me out. I've used the 12 second method in the past and it always worked. Doing it and having it not work this time had me paranoid after the brake issues.

Krista,
How's your battery? A few months back I was having wierd intermittent electrical anomalies
as my battery was getting weak, turning the engine over slowly, but still starting.
A new battery and all the little gremlins went away.
