Yup, my company is transferring me to Raleigh, NC! Jess and I have been wanting to move the NC for the past several years and with her schooling at night made it very difficult to do - she gets her degree this year and my company has agreed to let me transfer to our Raleigh office! Right now we are looking at living in Cary, NC. We are heading down there Mar 19-21 for me to visit the office and have a realtor take us around at new and existing homes! This is really a dream for us - no kids - no one to uproot - just us - and the opportunity to move where we've wanted to be for the past 4yrs!! We're excited to say the least, but we know we have a lot of work ahead of us! Right now we are planning on putting the house up for sale in June and moving down to NC in Aug!!
I have not said anything to Sal yet so please keep this on this board. I will let him know soon. We've already found a nice church (that we will visit while we are down there on the 21st) and a rescue to pick up our volunteering!! So, any one livng in MD that might be looking for a 2 car garage/4 floor townhouse w/rec room let me know!!
My company is also not adjusting my salary either so we will be moving where the cost of living is much less and I'll be making the same!!!!
Thank the Lord for the opportunity!!
We're not that far away so we'll be making it up for the Skylines and some other get togethers!!

You will like North Carolina. My sister lives in Mooresville in a 3500 sq.ft. house a short walking distance from Lake Norman. Her back yard backs up to a golf course green. The house was cheap compared to a simular home here in Michigan. Her taxes are real cheap too. Good luck with the move. Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002

Welcome to Cary, we moved here in 79. Guess we must like it as we are still here.
Anything you need to know about Cary, drop me a PM. Cary has really grown a lot in the last ten years. When we moved here in 79 Cary had 17,000 in it, now we have 110,000.

Be sure to check out the Carolina F-body Club . A large majority of the active members are in and around Cary...they do alot of stuff up there. I live south of Charlotte, and join the club for alot of the car shows down in this area. Alot of nice folks!

Thanks for all the wishes!! We've got a lot of work ahead of us - selling ours while shopping for a new one at the same time - we'll be busy for sure but it will be worth it in the end!! I'll be sure to get input from everyone - it's a big decision and we want to make sure we do it right too!! Much appreciated all
Robin and I keep toying with the idea of relocating to the Tampa area for the same reasons.... both our companies have operations in the Tampa area. We'd keep our NY salaries, and significantly reduce our cost of living.
So far, we havent pulled the trigger yet. Maybe one day. Family and friends are about all that is keeping us here.

Understood. My mom still lives here and my sister-in-law and my nephew, but that's it. My dad now lives in Fla and Jess's parents live in Michigan. My sister and brother-in-law live in TX. That's the only family I have. It's a good time for us to do this. Jess was born and raised in the South and she's been wanting to get back there really bad. The cost of living is just getting way too much for us here. It's ridiculous. Anyway, we've been waiting to do this and the Lord opened the door so we are walking through in faith! We are excited for sure!
