Now here's a story I thought I'd share. My wife and I stopped at BJ's Wholesale to gas up our Blazer last night. I finished pumping the gas, grabbed my reciept, got back in the car and with the door still open I hear a loud BANG! From our left, huge amounts of this white stuff starts pouring out of the ceiling in sections and was rolling towards us. I closed the door just in time. There was a loud noise that sounded like a giant fire extingusher. All we could see was white. Smoke/dust started coming in through the air vents, so we scrambled to close them all off. Then it was over. I pulled away from the pump once the smoke cleared enough to see. Everything was covered thick in white powder... like talcum powder, but much finer. a few people that were out pumping gas were covered in this stuff and very obviously shaken-up. I guess one guy dove into a ditch as we saw him crawling out of the hedges when we got out to check on everyone. You could see powder way out into the front parking lot over 100 yards away.

The Fire Dept and paramedics came. Everyone was ok, just shaken-up. They think it was just a malfunction. Fire Dept said we'd have to get the Blazer cleaned that night. We had to go to another gas station car wash (the look on the attendant's face was priceless) which got some of it off, then went to coin operated do-it-yourself place and got more of it off... but it's still on there AND the high pressure hose removed the undercoating on the Blazer's frame rails. [Roll Eyes] I Turned the AC on to Vent and big ol white cloud came out of the vents, so it's now everywhere inside. I've vaccummed twice and it's still inside. BJ's says they will make good on the clean-up, but what a serious PITA!!! My wife said... "what if we were in your Camaro with the top down?" "I don't want to think about that", was all I could say. Now THAT was a fun evening!

So are the station owners going to take responsibilty and pay for your time and expense to clean the vehicle? Seems they owe you.

It is amazing to see a system "Dump" [Eek!] . Had about the same experience when I dumped a computer room Halon system. Initally it sounds like a Freight train going through, scarry.

I talked to the Manager today. He says they will make good on whatever receipts I bring in related to the clean-up. Unfortunatly we are going out of town this weekend, and I planned on spending my free time next week getting the SS ready for Show on the 20th, so I'm going to arrange a detailer to clean it up for me.
