That is Exactly what my 12 year old said as I walked into the door today. Not usually hearing this when I get home I asked what he said and he repeated "IT SUCKS" Andrews mom died this weekend.
This just floored me as I knew the parents well. I asked what happened and he said she smoked alot and he thought it was lung cancer.
Well that was a 1-2 punch as my dad had cancer 20 years ago and died. Alec and I were just talking about my parents not long ago as he never met either. We were talking about Smoking and I hope he will never take it up after knowing someone who has died from it. Dont know for sure but I believe she (his friends mother) was in the late 40's early 50's.

Oh man.....that's awful. I'm sure that will make an impression on Alec.....that kinda brings it home.

Sorry to hear that, Ed. Maybe it'll make him and his friends think about not smoking. Sad thing is with the number of deaths related to smoking daily (including second hand smoke), the cigarette companies have to keep recruiting people when they're young to keep turning a profit.
