Does anyone have a link to pictures and instructions for installing Rear Lower Control Arms? Where do you keep the weight? Off the rear wheels or flat on the floor? What are the torque specs.

Hi Dan, I dont have the instuctions, but when I purchased mine, I was instructed to leave the vehicle weight on its wheels either on ramps or jackstands under axle...I have adjustable type, so as I removed one, I measured its actual length and adjusted them the same and put right back in, no effort needed to line them up this way...I put them on before Skyline last year and also drove to Superfest in MI and SLP day NJ, so I hope I have them right...No problems so far,Def give a better bite for accelerating in my opinion...just a lil rattling on rough roads, goes away under acceleration though Al

Put the jack stands under the rear differential. I have mine off to touch them up.I'll be putting them on today.The torque spec's are: Rear axle lower control arm bolt/screw 80 lb ft and the lower control arm nut 60 lb ft.Right out of the GM Service Manual for your SS. I did mine with weight on the wheels, i.e. the suspension was loaded, when I torqued down as per Ken's post. I did use the jack to lighten the suspension a bit to fit them on, when I had a tough time lining up the passenger side. My garage floor slants towards the drain and with a slight lift of that side - about 1/4" it went in very easily!
