Not too many choices out there for a 2002 V6 Camaro. I beleive the tire size for her wheels are: 235/55 R16 (dont quote me on that). WIll other sizes work as well, to expand my choices?? What do you reccomend me get for my sis's car? I DO have a winter set, so winter driving is not necessary for the tire. She needs the tires by the end of the month to pass inspection as well, and wil probably order from Tirerack.com

Thanks gang! You're great!! [Smile]

Anyone?

Also, would a 245/50 R16 tire work as well, or would changing the size that 'drastically' require recalibration of the odometer??

Thanks

I would go with the Goodyear RSA's for that Camaro. They are all season. My wife's Cadillac came with them from the factory and since her car is rear wheel drive, it had no problem going thru the snow. I was short on cash so I replaced the RSA's with a no brand tire. Big mistake, they are not as good as the RSA's at all. The next set I buy will be the RSA's again. As far as running that bigger size, I bet the tire diameter will be the same so no need to recalibrate the speedo.

Looking at 255/50 size since there is a much larger selection and gonna convince my sister to go with the Firehawk SZ50's like I had on my SS. Was also looking at the Firehawk Indy 500 tires (factory size) as they look to be the best in that size group. I have the RSA's on my Cavalier and they are a decent tire...guess it comes down to what she wants to spend. Thanks Greg [Smile]

I put a set of Goodyear HP 245/50's on my lil V6. They were actually cheaper than the 235/55's OEM and they are about the same diameter.

These are the top three choices I gave me sister (all in the 245/50 series):

Firehawk SZ50 EP ($136)
Pirelli Pzero M&S ($106)
Goodyear GS-D3 ($147)

I also had the BF Goodrich KDW Tires and RE750/RE950 Tires on there.

To tell ya the truth, going by tirerack's ratings, the PZero scored the highest ratings and is the cheapest!($106 each) I think my sis was looking to buy in teh $400-500 price range.

The only tire in the 255/50 series would be the SZ50's for $139 each.

I'll let it up to her what she wants to pay. Basicially, you get what you pay for with those choices (for the most part)

Well, I had to do some digging on my own, but finally ordered tires for my sis. Got the Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EP's in the 255/50 R16 Size. I'm sure she'll like them! I loved my Firehawks!! [Big Grin]
