it's pretty sad when dealing with people that don't have any values in their lives. I'd rather clear all of our troops out, and just level the entire country.

It was stated figuretavily, you cannot leave[for years if not decades]you are stuck there until they can get their shyt together[never].
Until a acceptable goverment can be chosen to run the contry[Good F'ing Luck]thats agreeable to all sides.
Your vision of democratically elected goverment[read non religious]is dyametrically opposed to what will be favored by the Iraqi who will probably vote a Cleric in[Islamist] which would be unacceptable to the U.S. and it's allies.
I don't know how far this was thought through before going in,but it seems badly managed[opinion from the peanut gallery and I could be wrong]!!!

After WWII would this behavior be tolerated in Germany or Japan. Hell no.
Give 72 hours warning to lay down arms, exit Fallujah, dragnet the exodus, tactically nuke, or MOAB for morbid.
If you can't behave in Fallujah you can't have it.
I hope the photos and vdos have been gone through and some arrests made.
The Iraqi people need to start to show some backbone and appreciation for what we are paying for and our people dying for. Freedom

Of course levelling the city would result in a mass quantity of civilians being killed. Casualties of war... Unfortunate for sure but I guess that would be a loud and clear message to the civilians of other cities that if they don't want to receive the same fate, they better start ratting out all of these criminals - and fast! I don't understand what the heck is wrong with people over there. Are they really that stupid? It seems that many have the same mentality of people from the middle ages. Plainly ignorant!

Thats what is wrong with this country today they do not know anymore how you really win a war. We did not win fighting Japan till we leveled 2 of their major cities and they gave up fast. Mass civilian casualties was not a bad thing then and is what wins wars. You do not win fighting soldiers when their home front keeps sending more you have to cut off the supply and that is hit their home family and country and hit it hard like we did in WW1 and WW2. Thats one of the reasons we lost Nam is to much worry about civilian casualties, you think any of those people over there worry about them on our side?

"Why do they hate us? Maybe it is because the alternative to hating us is to hate themselves."
Very good point. They were so advanced before around... oh say.. maybe 600-ish AD. And what happened then? Islam happened. Since then, it seems the culture stopped advancing completely. They really do need to look at themselves in the mirror and look at the real problem. They've become enslaved by a fundamentalist radical view of a religion that degrades women, condones violence, does not allow for soical change... They're still throwing their shoes at people they disagree with!

Although the images seen on TV and in the newspapers are deplorable and strike deep in the heart of every great American, we must remain steady. These acts are and were design to test the will of the American, and as Americans we must swallow hard and push forward.
The world knows what happened in Somalia, the extremists know what happened. They want the same for Iraq. Look at what the train bombing in Spain did. It changed the outcome of an election. Did they stop there? No, Spain found another bomb yesterday. These terrorist cannot be appeased, only embolden. They must and deserve to be eliminated.
A lot of great comments here. I agree with everything except "cutting and running". I for one that moderate Muslims do in-fact think and preach peace, however they are (in my opinion) the minority. The fundamentalist radical view has taken control and leading the charge against anything and anyone who is not Muslim or share radical Muslim views.
When I drove through Fallujah and Ramadi I was always expecting the worse. Those are some bad neighborhoods. People just standing around staring at you with hate filled in their eyes.
I was told Fallujah and Ramadi (Sunni triangle) were well funded and they lived lavish lives. That's now all gone, and they are pissed. When my unit would do raids, they would find leaflets spreading hate towards the Americans for causing their suffering, and blaming us for everything. When the Saudi government stood up and said that America does not understand the Arab, I tend to agree. We don't understand, and I don't care to understand either, but in order to get control of this situation we need too.
These same types of attacks happened in Japan and Germany after WWII. In Germany I think the group was called the Wolverines. There will always be resistance groups at the end of any conflict. The only difference (to this point) is that Japan and Germany didn't posses any fundamental radical religious view that’s shared by every other radical nation.
