No, but the dyno owner promises 15-20 RWHP for an LS1Edit...

It may be the placebo affect, but the car seems alot stronger than before. Maybe it is because I'm carrying alot less weight in my wallet.

Yeah, that could be it! [Big Grin]

Seriously, I think once you have the car tuned you'll see an improvement in the dyno numbers.

That si about what I would expect. It seems that HP numbers are always inflated. I get mine installed this weekend. I drop off the car tonight.

Good luck! I'm hope your car is more receptive to the LTs. I did have the SLP y-pipe on for the orginal dyno and that may have negated the improvement somewhat.

From what I have heard those are good gains for just adding Long tubes and cats without any other performance mods or tuning. [Cool]

Brad,

I'm glad you've got the system together....

You have the lowest gains that I have seen. Was that on a Mustang dyno, by chance?

Yes, maybe your gain is a bit less than the common 25 RWHP (on a Dyno-Jet .... without tuning) due to the SLP y-pipe being on the car for the "before" numbers.

Yo Brad! Congrats on the headers... [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

I agree, your numbers seem low. As Jim Mac suggested, find a good shop to have your ride tuned and see what that does for you.

If I remember correctly, my SLP LTs gave me about 22 -25 more HP & TQ. Let us know how it goes!

[Cool]

Thanks Craig! I don't know what the deal is [Frown] .

I used the same dyno-jet in both instances. One difference was that the ambient temp was 20 degrees higher, but the correction should have normalized this. The air/fuel mix was about 13, down from 13.8.

I hope to go the track on saturday and see if there is a difference. Maybe the SAE correction factor isn't accurate at the altitude here.

Thanks!

Why are the actual #'s lower with the headers?

Still waiting to have mine tuned. It sure is
a lot louder with the Borla exhaust. Almost too
loud sometimes.

From the dyno testing that we have done, the SLP Y-pipe made absolutely NO HP/TQ difference on an otherwise stock car. It DID make it sound better though. I still highly recommend installing one, just for the sound and look factors! I am still going to put one on our car, due to the sound, and to get rid of the ugly flat pipe:)

I got my headers installed last weekend. I still have an exhaust leak on the drivers side, I think it's at the first connection. Gotta figure out how to fix it. The pipes also bang the floor board on the drivers side when you get on it hard. Gotta tweak that too.

I asked that question about the Y-pipe and the person said it made no improvement from the stock one. This came from a person who knew the cars well.

Headers only yielded 10-15HP [Eek!] WOW 1000 bucks for that... better off with a cam.. Now it will cost another 450 or more for a tune to get another 10 HP..

I was thinking of changing the exhaust till I ran the car at the track, the couple of hundred was not worth it. The SLP exhaust did its job.

Must be the 20 degree differential.

I had to use the old style muffler clamp to get the s-pipe to seal. I had clearance issues with the tunnel brace that caused some banging on hard acceleration. FYI

Kevin, I had the same exhaust leak when my SLP LTs were installed.... It turns out I had a crappy set of gaskets. Try swapping them out and see if that helps.

Ok....Track results.

Looks like I picked up between .2 and .3 tenths at the track.

Now if I could just finds some tires that will hook up!

I'm pretty sure it's the S pipe as midlife stated. I've been off from work and working on the house all week long so I haven't had time to look at the car let a lone drive it.

You need a dyno tune!!! John Tighe put PPC long tubes on his 01 SS, got it dyno tuned and got something like 360rwhp and 370lb ft of torque!! A 01 Z28 with the same mods put down 350rwhp and 360 lb ft of torque (his numbers were lower but he also has the largest gain of the two of them).

The dyno tune was VERY important, the driveability of the cars sky rocketed.
