Well, as some of you may remember, these last 2 years have been hard for my wife and I with respect to both of us losing our jobs and being placed into positions not of our choosing. She was able to move into something she was happy with. I on the other hand was stuck. I left the state in August of last year to go back to school. Since then I started a small business, which some of y'all have used . Well, over the last couple of months I've been thinking about going back into the work force. As of today I am now one of 2 Regional Managers for the Virginia Department of Corrections Security and Compliance Divisions. I will be touring all of the prisons statewide checking for state and federal security complaince. In fact, this was a 2 grade increase from my job I lost 2 years ago. Y'all are the first to know. I had to promise not to tell anyone until all of the phone calls had been made to the other applicants. Ironically, I turned this position down 4 years ago.
It makes me feel like a part of something again. This also helps me keep my business from getting outa hand. This way I can stay on my 2 year goal of expanding; otherwise, it would be the main focus right now and its far to young of a business to get thrown into large numbers. So, as of now, it will still only be my play money business Posts: 165 | From: Petersburg, Va | Registered: Jul 2001

Thanks to everyone. I'm really looking forward to getting back to work. I was a little worried my wife might not be too happy because of the travelling and all, but she appears to be cool with it.

I think everyone should once in their life
I toured San Quentin in 1991 with one of the guards who worked there. He was the coach of one of my co-worker's daughter's softball team and offered us a private group tour. We all had to get Federal clearance and were told not to make eye contact with the prisoners. We had to wear white jumpsuits. They gave the ladies baggy ones so our figures weren't prominent.
