I had to use my neighbors garage yesterday. A wheelbarrel reared its ugly head. Ther result was a paint chip 1/8" by 1/2" down to the plastic on the drivers door. There is also some clear coat that was scratched and turned white about the same size. I'm beside myself. Anyone have any luck fixing these problems.

Steve, Matt's 35th Anniversary had a nice scratch on the drivers door that was down to the door skin composite material. I was able to fill it in with some touch up and you can't really see it now unless you knew exactly where the scratch was. Bring it over and I will take a look at it. I have some Bright Rally Red touch up from the painter that painted my hood on my 1999 Z28. Sooner or later your car gets a rock chip or scratch. [Frown]

On Saturday I was watching the DIY Network and they were repairing scratches and nicks. Wjen the guy was done you couldn't even tell where the original damage was. I was amazed at how well they turned out. Here is the link to the "how to" on the program giving you a complete breakdown on what is necessary.

I've also cut a small piece of thin cardboard to create a stencil the exact duplicate to the scratch and then use spray touch up versus applying coats with a brush. I've had good results as the spray coats are thinner, more uniform than brush strokes. good luck. [Wink]
