I know you shouldnt mix them, but Im not sure if using the regular stuff after a flush is okay or not. I just went the safe route and used the Dexcool stuff again. It can be found at any auto parts store.

I heard that using the green stuff after a GOOD flush is okay. I plan to do this because my head gaskets are leaking coolant and it looks very bad. I have been told by different techs that this is because of the new coolant and is not covered under warranty. Someone please check this and let me know. Dont want to give out the wrong information.

The red/orange antifreeze is made for cooling systems with aluminum. I would not use the green antifreeze.

After you've fully flushed the system you can use what ever you like. Dexcool does NOT cause leaks and this(head gasket leaking) most certainly IS covered under warrantly. The LS1 is one of the most leak free engines ever developed by GM. Unlike the LT1 which is infamous for leaking.

Dexcool was developed by GM/Texaco in an attempt to make a non-toxic long lasting coolant. Both(red and green) are compatible with cast and aluminum components.
