in case some of yall dont know it...Sal Zaino, I consider,.....one of my best friends. I didnt know him from adam....when one night..back in 1998, i got a call from him. he had seen some wins my Comp T/A had made in show, including two major ones at the Pontiac Nationals.... and wanted me to "try" his polish. I laughed...."snake oil........" (i didnt say that to him). he sent it to me. i did a test..used the black firehawk of ours, and back then..its was an everyday driver. i put his polish thru pure h#!! against what i was using at the time..... and it was March in VA.... rain, cold, dirt on the roads from snow..you name it.....salt......
..... it kicked major @$$ over what i was using....and the hawk kept looking better and better with more coats..... i posted the results of the test on this forum and the old slp forum....and folks started using zaino....and got the same results...... Sal's products took off too.....from Vipers to Vetts......he became #1...

that was 1998. the rest is history. after detailing cars now since i was 16......which was 41 years ago..... i have never used anything better than his offerings...from the polish to the rubber protectant......the clay....you name it. the guy that bought my compTa could not believe that the weather striping looked brand new.... on a 7 year old car. along with the interior and everything else.... the factory hoses were still on.... looked and felt brand new....flexable and no deteroration..... yes....z16 on those too...

so....... this afternoon....in the mail...i get this brochure from Meguirars....... how they got my name and addy....i dont know....LOL........ all about thier new ""next generation technology has arrived....."...."nxt tech wax"........

next generation for them maybe.....but this is what sal zaino has been marketing since the early 90's!!! and constantly improving on it since too!!!!!! look at the advance z2 and z5 he came out with a little over year ago!!!!!! and Meguires sells a "copy" of the z6 gloss enhancer too......they call it the "booster"......... hahahahahahahahaahaha.........

whats that say folks????? it says Sal Zaino....and Zaino show car polish is where the market offering should have been 12 years or more ago...... the gummy carnuba wax peddlers have gone down.... zaino has set the stage..... they control the quality of what enthusiasts are looking for...... big bad Meguires has changed its attitude now...... polymer instead of carnuba.

know what? too late. they are still behind. nothing can touch zaino....... and funny thing....meguires mentions nothing about "layering"........hmmmmmmm.. solvents still.......LOL.

my old saying folks...... when you see my Hawk.....cause my compTA is now gone...."the proofs in da puddin"......you know...... plain and simple.

zainoDoubtAboutIt.....

"if you cant beat em .....join em".......

nice try Meguires....but you still are a sibling in the polymer playing field.....zaino is the big daddy........

Ken,
That's exactly what I told my neighbor
when he told me Meguirs had a "new" one
out that's better than that "Z stuff" I use.

The only bad thing about Zaino is not being
able to get it locally. I managed to run out
of nearly everything at once and put in a $80
order tonight. Someone asked me if its really
worth it. Figure that it costs about a buck a
coat(depending on how much ZFX you use).
I bet you won't get 15 coats out of the $15
bottle of Meg.NXT and it won't look as good or
last as long.
