There has just been to much rain that has fallen here in Michigan the last 30 days. Over 6 inches and more on the way which has caused a major leak in the basement and looks as though big repairs are needed. So I just wanted to let all of you know that this is my last post until I can get back in here after everything has been fixed.
I bid you a sweet adieu for now and will return asap. Take care and may God Bless You All.

Yup-we got the same stuff. Took my wife to work this AM and a creek ( that now looks like a river) was about a foot under a bridge that is normally 5 feet under. Just went out and the road is now closed. In just 3 hours, the river rose 2-3 feet and the road is flooded.
I live on a hill, on top of a underground river. My sump pump has been running just about constantly ( I keep the float set to a minimum height in case of a power failure - that way the sump is empty).
I thought my 60 gallon fish tank sprung a leak, but its the wallbehind the tank - it hasn't leaked in 35 years. The ground is completely saturated. There's more rain in the forecast for this afternoon.
Guess the old shop vac will be wroking O/T.

At least Lake St. Claire may actually have enough water for boats this year!

Still damp, but my basement is dry. Can't believe all the rain we've had lately. More to come, ug!

This rain was good for our low rivers up here by the bay, but now it's getting out of hand. I don't remember it raining this much in 1986 when our whole county was flooded.
Good luck with your basement man.
Too bad we can't sell all this extra water to California.

Yesterday on the news it said that we only needed 1/10 of an inch of rain to have the wettest May in history . Think we got it last night. Listened to the thunder rolling through and into the neighboring cities.

Ken, my basement in my Westland house used to leak from a crack in the wall and the rod holes. Not a big leak but some water on the floor that went to the drain. My Canton house basement actually did not leak from the walls, but the previous owner had enlarged the basement windows to have glass blocks installed. Well the were now below grade! Whos bright idea was that? The basement windows would seep if we got some heavy rain of it the ground was frozen. Hopefully yours is due to the clay in the ground that cannot absorb water. My new house does not have any clay around it and I have a 5' crawl space under the house. Water drainage is excellent.
