Daughter of a friend of mine has a 92 RS and needs a replacement spare wheel and tire. I think it was missing when they bought the car. At any rate she's going to college this fall and really would like a spare. Any suggestions where I could look. They said they tried to order one from the local dealer but he said they didn't make it anymore. I haven't checked myself yet but will do so in the morning. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I have a spare, with holder. It's out of my 87 TransAm.
It's an alloy and an inflatable style.

You can have it, just pay the shipping and packaging costs.

Ive never seen a spare like that before... with an alloy... my guess is that baby is rare... As far as needing a spare goto your local auto wrecker... I bet they will practically give you one out of a 3rd gen if you can find one out in the yard... I can't imagine you would pay more then a few bucks for one used....

That spare is somewhat rare for a thirdgen.

It was an orderable option some years, and I think it came standard with the 1LE suspension.

Both of my thirdgens only had the regular black steel wheel spare. That lightweight alloy spare should fetch a good price on ebay, there are folks looking for them. [Smile]

... it is a 1LE option spare. The bigger front brakes required it.

Since I make a full time track car out of the ol 3rd gen, there's a lotta stuff now removed. Some of it is still sitting around the garage. Like the spare and the O/H console.

Don't really have time for ebay these days, just trying to help out a fellow enthusist.
