I'm thinking about putting an electric cutout on but I've heard some pretty discouraging things concerning the reliability of the electric motors and switches. Seems they don't handle heat or rain very well.
Has anyone on here had any experience with them?
Thanks.

I've got the FlowTech manual cut out & I LOVE it!! I have YET to put the plate back on cuz I love the sound so much!
It's a cheap & easy mod to do, especially since I may put a GMMG on him one of these days.

I have the QTP on my '02 ZL1 that GMMG, Inc. installed during modification.
Had no problems last year........but.....having problems this year. I leave it open most of the time..........but occasionally there are times I would like to close it.
If it is open now, it doesn't want to close and if it is closed, it doesn't want to open. To either open it or close it we have to throw it on the lift and jiggle it around to get it to operate. I have spoken to Matt Murphy at GMMG once about this and he had indicated to me that they had had some problems. I need to get back in touch with him and see if he will replace it with something else or whether I am on my own now.

We got the same cutout as Millie (thanks to her recommendation! ), and Missi refuses to put the plate back on. (The rumble is rather nice! )
There's several things to know...
1. I believe this was in an article, maybe Chevy High Performance (I can get the article for you if you want me to), but some of the low end torque is diminished, but not a whole lot (I can tell, but it's not a whole lot).
2. We HAVE had a couple of SES lights come on since we had it put on, but I don't THINK it was due to the cutout, since it is positioned where no sensors should be affected, (basically under the passenger side back seat) but I could be wrong (someone else on here could probably tell you better than me) .
3. The only other thing...if you have a rattle, you'll know it. But I've found (Millie has to, I believe!) that if you just press the right foot down towards the floormat, it will soon go away! (Ours goes away around 78 - 82mph )
It's running great and sounds great, so we're not going to mess with it! I think it's a neat, affordable little part that'll give it a nice rumble going down the road. Maybe we could have another "Texas Meet and Greet" and you can hear Millie's and ours! That'd give you an idea about what they do...Missi might even let you drive hers...
