I watched the movie for the first time last weekend. wow. had to buy it. Of course, my dvd box set that only cost $20 for all 26 episodes got here yesterday. I have not really been an anime fan since I was a kid (used to watch voltron on tv, and a lot of rankin-bass stuff, but that was about it), but Cowboy Bebop is... different. Reminds me very much of an animated Clint Eastwood style western. Good stuff.

I've seen it, and although it's good, it's not a riveting saga in my opinion. Somewhere I did see a movie deal for this show, perhaps.

If you're into anime, or "Japanimation" as they say, check out "FLCL" (Furi Kuri/Fooly Cooly). It is one very DIFFERENT type of animation. Plot line is difficult to even get established, let alone follow, if at all, but it's non-stop action all the way through the only 6 episodes ever made. Weird, but if you're into odd, it's worth checking out. Some of the best animation I've seen in a very long while.

I will have to look into it. The bebop movie is excellent, btw, much better than anything in the series (better animation quality, as well as better plot lines, etc).

I got hooked watching it on cartoon network late at night, and rented the movie just to see. Loved it, very nice. If you even slightly enjoy the series, the movie will be incredible.
