Has anyone heard of a problem with the water pumps on Trailblazers? The pump went out on Linda's '03 Trailblazer after just 46K miles. That just doesn't right to me.

I purchased a 03TrailBlazer last November and haven't heard of any problems with waterpumps.

We've had a 2002 Trailblazer for over 95,xxx miles, including towing and off roading.. No problems except a dead battery.

the 2 most common problems with Trailblazers are:

#1. Circuit boards for tail/brake lamps.(replace both circuit boards and bulbs)
#2. Cooling Fan Clutch (replace cooling fan/clutch assy.)

No common problem with waterpumps from my experience.

Thanks everyone. It certainly isn't a common problem as the dealer had a heck of a time even finding the replacement. Looks like it'll be worth his time though....he says the tab will be around $500. Ouch! [Eek!]

Never heard of it being a common problem on trailblazers. A guy at work has a newer one and one of his brake calipers messed up, but they fixed that (root cause was found to be a bad wheel bearing) and that was all.

Then again, it could be Linda's driving. Sustained high speeds in school zones can do a water pump in, last I heard.... [Big Grin] D&R
