Well, I know I haven't been around much. I was working hard and lots of hours. It did not pay off. As of today I am unemployed once again. I did have a job interview two weeks ago and was one of 3 from 150 so I am hoping!! That is the NFB
For the FB - Anyone change a rear wheel stud? Do you really have to take out the rear axle? Can I take apart the emergency brake and have enough room to replace the stud?
THe car is apart in the garage so any help would be appreciated quick.

If you don't get an answer online right away, you can call Steve at the shop. 503-635-8252 If you tell our Office Manager (Mom) who you are, she'll let you through to Steve.

Hope you're still on for Taboo! Did you check the F body manual?

Oh, don't worry about me gang. Life is too good for me to worry! I'll get something worked out!!
The shop manual was useless. I figured it out. Just take off the emegency brake pads, it give you enough room to work the studs in. I replaced all 5. Funny how the get corroded when I haven't even driven the car!

Dan, First, I'm really sorry to hear that you're between jobs again. That's a poopy for sure. I rememeber you telling me about the interview. I hope that works out.
Now, as far as the Camaro goes, you've only driven the dang thing like 1600 miles in the last two years and yer afraid to take it to a show only a couple miles up the road because of a broken stud and not having time to detail the car. How dirty could it be parked all that time????
I think yer just scared to park next to me even though I use mine daily.....

You wouldn't think it's so pretty now if you could see it with two days' worth of rain schmutz and pollen all over it. Yeeeee !!! Downright ghastly....
No, I didn't get a trophy. The show was really dragging on and I left before it ended. It was alot of fun and that Ferrari F40 was absolutely fabulous. This crowd caters to the 50's era cars and as I know you recall, all the newer models were completely shut out the last time we were all there together. I went anyway because it was an excuse to hang out and be around some cool cars. Dave's SS looks prettier every time I see it. I was really glad you stopped by. Really, it was too bad you couldn't have showed your car too. All we would have needed then was Jimmy Mongoose and we'd had a reunion !! Posts: 214 | From: Pepperell MA USA | Registered: Jan 2001

Sorry to hear this Dan. You will find something else.
As far as the wheel stud, you would probably have to take the rotor off to gain access. I would check my GM shop manuals for the correct answer, but I have no idea where they are as of yet. Still not unpacked from the move.

Glad you figured out the stud. What did you use to push it out?
I used a hammer to get it released then I just worked it out.
I took the rotor off and thenthe emergency brake pads and I had JUUUSTTTT enough room to snake the stud out.
