welp.. the Govt. authorized me to test these puppies. so i did. we outfitted two of our Fleet Operations vehicles in house with them and i kept a close eye on them and monitored the tires, hot and cold with my trust 1,000% accurrate michelin tire gauge..... guess what? the things work folks! i have now installed them on our two Envoys.
here's some pics for you. when the cap shows "green" the pressure is right...and at the end of the cap..it shows the o.e. tire pressure (you specify the pressure when you order). when the tire is approx. 4psi. low.. the cap will show yellow...when 10psi low...red...which means "dont drive" without pumping up.
the interesting thing is..notice the second pick.. i deliberately dropped the pressure from 34psi to 32 psi. on mary's Envoy and installed the cap.. sure enough..a "hint " of yellow is showing... thats pretty accurrate....
bottom line is, for 14.95 a set.. its pretty cheap insurance for moms suv, grandmothers buick, or whatever you want to put them on. we are guilty of not checking tire pressure, and most women dont have clue how to and dont want to mess thier nails up. this gives them some insurance. it takes 4 seconds to look at the caps..... and go in peace. and... although i check our pressures once a week..... so what if i check them Sunday.....and tues. due to a small nail hole..mary's right rear starts dropping...already 8psi down...???

Thanks for posting about them Ken. I'll have to get some...especially for my DH who almost never checks his Cherokee tires.
BTW, he says I'm "the only woman who carries an air guage in her purse".
My Dad thinks I check air pressure TOO often. When I used to keep my motorcycle in my Dad's garage, he used to get a little annoyed because I used to check the air before every ride and make him turn on the air compressor if tires were the least bit low.

Depending on interest, if there are enough people, I could see if they could do a bulk discount.
Seems like a plan!
