Looking to install a new Cam Shaft in the ole' SS. Got some recommendations on some Comp Cam products. Has anyone installed one of these sticks in a basically stock 00/LS1? M004340/3000 Original Miles KICKBACKSS

I just put a comp cam in my 2000 SS. Though I did long tubed headers last year, and the Loudmouth the year before that. Also did the usuall lid, maf, cai as well. Did the LS6 Intake and underdrive pulley at the same time as the cam.
After my experience, this is a good mod. Depending on the cam size, you make sacrifice some driveability. Mine has kind of learned itself out of it for the most part.
I don't claim to be any kind of mechanical genious, but when I got my SS dyno tuned after the cam install, it was the opinion of the shop manager that I did my mods in the right order before the cam.

The comp cams are an excellent mod, you need to be clear on what you expect from the cam and how you want to drive, the we can offer opinions and experience.
