Have located a disk changer for my 2000SS...someone told be that the wiring harness is already there where the changr goes...can anyone confirm this?
Also, what purpose does the flat y-pipe serve on an SS stock exhaust. Replacing it with a new SLP pipe what changes can I expect.

Yep, lift up the carpet(cardbaord) on the driver side buy the wheel well (rear), you'll find it there.
I did the same thing to my 02. Found an OEM changer for cheap and plugged it right in. Works great. [Big Grin]

The harness should be there near the left rear speaker area.

The flat pipe offers more ground clearance. The SLP y-pipe will make it sound a little better, but will not increase the HP any.

...What Steve said [Big Grin] . I just didn't like the look of seeing a flattened pipe under the car so I went to the SLP Y-pipe as well. There's no more 'area' in the cross-section but now it looks better, ...with a slight tone too...

Got rid of mine the day after I took delivery of the car. Then I replaced the SLP pipe with the bigger SLP pipe with the LTs. Unfortunetly I already sold the SLP Y-pipe to another board memeber. [Wink]

I've got a picture of the two Y-pipes (pancake and SLP) sitting next to each other...I'll see if I can dig it up? [Big Grin]
Here it is

Got that puppy working, all I need now are the metal brackets that hold it in place...anyone got some just setting around somewhere...don't know why, but I did not get any when I purchased the unit.
