While driving an autocross course, do not look right in front of you rather look where you want to be. Drive the car with smooth steering, accelerator and brake applications. Have fun! Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002

Smooth - go slowly at first, work on creating a line, speed will follow. If you try to go fast at first you'll actually go slower!

Walk the course before the runs. Look at the cones and try to imagine a curved road not just gate to gate. As you walk the course, turn around and look at it backwards. Sometimes this allows you to see how you need to position your car to get to where you are now standing. As you walk the course also look for a seasoned auto-crosser. Most will give you help till you start to beat them and unless you are the second coming of "Senna" that will not happen on your first day.
Most of all just have fun. You will learn good car control and it will make you a better and safer driver on the street.
