A guy i know just bought a new 04 Mudstang 5 speed.

He of course, said he would smoke me at the track...

Just to fuel the fire before we hit the track, I am trying to find some performance results.

I was able to find that the '04 Mustang V8 with 16 valves is 260hp (heh how cute) and the 32v is 305 hp. But no 1/4 mile times at all to be had.

I also dont know what a 99 SS did stock in the 1/4 either.. and I havent run 1/4 yet, only 8th at 8.47 @ 87 MPH if i remember right.

Please post links if you can find anything.. [Smile]

You can go as fast as high 12's - but more
likely you'll be low 13's. He'll probably
be mid to high 13's. You should smoke him!

Links to magazines won't help. They're pro
drivers for the most part.

My buddies stock GT 5 speed - 14.2 @ 95-96 mph
other friend's A4 GT - 14.2 @ 95 mph

After some basic mods:
5 speed - best 13.6 @ ? mph
A4 - best 13.6 @ 99 mph

Someone esle's moded A4 GT - 14.2 @ 97 mph (supposedly went 13.7 n/a but nobody has ever seen it)
13.5 on the spray

Some jacka$$'s 5 speed GT heavily moded - 14.2 @ 98 mph, 12.9 @ 109 on a 125 shot once; averages 13.5 on the spray.

My old `99 SS A4 - 13.5 @ 101 stock, 13.2 @ 103 tuned with basic stuff, 12.8 @ 107 with stall, street tires and better tune.

Current car, `02 SLP SS (previous owner) - 13.8 @ 107 finished in third gear off rev limiter (never driven a M6 before) bone stock.

My wife's old 2001 GT was not even close to a match for my 2000 SS. I would even keep my foot out of it and let her stay even with my mirror just to toy with her, then take off, putting lengths on the Mustang. Without mods, I thought the Stang was about as fast as a nice sports sedan.

And I am not being anti Ford here. The Mustang was a nice car with a few aspects of it being better than the Camaro but performance wise, it was no match.

Whoever said you couldn't run away from your problems obviously wasn't driving an SS.
