i dont have to tell you.....mary and i are pretty bummed.
we held the first skyline drive event in 1997.....and have held one ever since. in 97...we only had a few cars....less than a dozen if i remember right. we all came back stoked..... it balloned from there. we have nothing but fantastik memories of it.....
it always remained a no pressure get together....and a gr8 drive....we delt with rain.....we delt with snow.... we delt with killer bucks (remember that one!) black bears......kev!........horses...... git!........you name it.....
we never had an incident....well....major one that is (thanks camSS for the pic of me and the park ranger last year......hahahahahaha)
yall old timmers watch the new commers.... one thing ive learned.. you can read it in thier eyes too..... and its nothing to be ridiculed about or be made fun of over... thats "lack of experience" in those type of twisties... you may even have to say to they guy behind you in the caravan... "broh... if its gets squirely..dont try and hang with me..... our cars are set up diff..... its not about who's fastest up and down the mountain....."........ you get my drift.....
anyway..... warmest wishes from me, mary, reno, kona, and shelby.
if i dont make it there tomorrow night.....its because something has come up....its over an hour drive for me, which is not bad....but not good either given whats happend and going on with us and rescue stuff and weekend buss. that we must do that we cant during the week.
ol #139 is with ya..... it the first time in 7 yrs she aint led the f body pack thru the mountains..... and now she's in good hands with a good friend of mine......
so rock, ride, drive, and party harty on friends......

Thanks Ken, that's good advise. It would be great if you could make one of the runs with #132. If not, we hope you can stop by for a little while on Saturday night. Steve

Well this year has just been to busy for me to make many events and I had to pass on this skyline cruise as well...I hate to miss it, the last 2 yrs I been going and it was such a great time...I hope to make the next one. HERE IS MY .02 below Ken, good tips for safe enjoyment...It can be fun for everyone reguardless of just cruising steady or those that enjoy dropping back and then closing up the gaps ...Hangin it right out thru the twisties can be fun too ...just be very aware of those around you and what they are doing, adjust accordingly. Thank you, Ken. I only went to Skyline last year, but I am sure it'll still be different for me without the comp leading the way. Here's hoping we'll see you this weekend!

This time last year I was reading about y'all leaving for Skyline on the SLP board. You had everyone so pumped.....and y'all had been talking about it for weeks and weeks on there.....
I remember making some comment like "waaaaahhhhh!! I wanna go too!" Next thing I know you're posting an information-kinda message to them..... you put on there "...and u 2, cytruffle".....like I was a part of it, too....and that made me feel good!!
The thing that really got me, tho (and I think a few others, as well) was when you described the empty parking lot that you woke up to on that last morning and how much you hated seeing that......I sat here & snivvled like a fool....
Through your words and pictures last year, you brought the Skyline experience to this "n00b".....and I'll never forget it!!
.....now get yer happya$$ over there with them tomorrow nite and CONTINUE to be a part of Skyline, bro.... Posts: 3236 | From: Dallas, Texas | Registered: Nov 2002
