Its called Equilibrium. I saw it last night with some friends, and it was unbelievable. Truly an excellent film. It was a combination of the following movies/literary works:
The Matrix Logan's Run Farenheit 451 1984 Brave New World
Its basically a post-apocalyptic film about a society that has abolished emotions through the use of a daily drug that everyone takes. This abolishment of emotions is intended to prevent things like war, poverty, etc, by removing things from society that cause emotion (like art, music), in addition to emotions themselves. A special caste of enforcers have been created to execute offenders, but one of them goes off his dosage, and begins to have emotions of his own, and allies himself with the resistance, and ends up overthrowing the oppressive government.
Its a story that takes classical "big brother" literary elements, and combines it with excellent special effects and fight scenes, including the introduction of a mathematically-based martial art involving the use of firearms, and statistics derived from gunfight studies to optimize the enforcers' abilities in combat. Totally blew me way when I saw it, I would reccomend it to anyone who likes action, post-apocalyptic, and movies about oppressive societies falling.

Yes, AWESOME movie!!! I liked it just at much much as the matrix. Very good storyline. I downloaded it never hearing of it before, and after watching it, I went out and bought it on DVD.

It was actually very hard for me to find on dvd, took some serious effort to locate it. evidently, its becoming a cult classic very quickly. Some advice, try watching it with the director commentary on (not director producer, just director by himself). It is hilarious. He is a very funny guy.
