In April the wife and I went to Toronto and met the boys from ARE. I do know a little about the problems of the past from what I've read, but our experience with Nick and the guys from ARE was great. To start it off, the two days they had scheduled for the work ended up being the start of Easter weekend, to include Good Friday. This fact was overlooked when we initially scheduled months in advance, but keeping their promise, several guys came in to complete our car. We were very impressed with the service at the shop. I think the shop is headed back in the right direction, concentrating on customer service and quality of work. Like to thank Nick, Pete, Ray, Bryan, Fernando and Kevin. Now for the numbers. We had the Stage II package installed.
Dyno before: 296.1 Hp w/ 299.3 torque Dyno after: 349.1 Hp w/ 417.0 torque
Only one trip to Milan Dragway so far. We did 8 runs and not once could we get a hole shot without spinning the @#%& out of the BFG Drag Radials with 14lbs of air. Our next trip to Milan is for Camaro Superfest in July. See you there.

Glad to hear that you are happy with the results and that Nick and the boys looked after you! Nick has been busting his butt since coming back into the business, making sure to live up to his committments to current customers and setting things right for previous customers who had dealings with the previous "regime".
Try and make it out to one of the Eastern Michigan Camaro Club rentals we put on. The next one is July 8th (Thursday evening). I will post details soon.
What was you Speed (MPH) in the quarter? That will give us and estimate on ET. Nice power numbers....that torque figure is outstanding.

We had 6 of the 8 runs a little over 110mph with almost all our 60 ft times being 2.0 or 2.1 something. If I could ever get it to hook up, I hope to get a 1.6 or 1.7 60 ft time. We been trying to make one of the EMCC nights but during the week it is almost impossible for us.
Hey Steve, going to Superfest?????

SS Fury, Shouldn't your hp numbers be higher. Your hp # should be close to your torque #. My cam only had 383/rwhp and 380/rwtq. That torque number is fantastic.

sscamaro, Not really sure...I'm reading the numbers off the Dyno sheets. The car does pull hard. I do not know enough about engine building to say one way or the other.

I agree Ralph the HP # is way off for that torque. My 2001 dynoed 330 RWHP stock almost

[Jealous] I'm still waiting to go for heads and Cam...cam for sure. I just got a Diablo Sport Predator and I've been playing with the tune, it's keeping me occupied, but I want to take a bigger step than just a few ponies from tuning [/jealous]

DaddySS, I got the Stage II heads which flow 300cfm on the intake and 220cfm on the exhaust. The cam shaft is the Stage I with: int. lift .525 ex. lift .532 dur @ .050 int. 216 dur @ .050 ex. 220
Hoping on Friday, July 2nd, at Milan Dragway they have alot of sticky down so we can get a good quarter mile time in without spinning wheels.

Your horsepower figues are way low, they should be more like 390 RWHP with a torque figure of 417 RWTQ. My basically stock 01' SS puts out 343 RWHP with 353 RWTQ. Your head/cam package should be good for 100 RWHP maybe more. I am sure you are putting more than the stated hp figures.

I agree, perhaps even you got them transposed? Maybe 417 HP with 349 torque? Still, that's a bit weird too. Perhaps not, but it's worth a double check.

The 216/220 is a nice torquey cam so that might explain part of the HP/TQ imbalance. If you take it from the base number, that's 53HP, and assuming a 216/220 is worth about 25HP, and attribute the other 25 to the heads it's not that far off. Congrats on the new install. Daddy I don't know if its the dyno print-out or tuning but the #s still seem off as I have seen to many 2001 and 2002s with just headers and such no heads and cam Dyno in the 340"s. My 2001 with just nothing but duel-duel exaust and air lid dynoed 330 rwhp and 345 rwtq before my head and cam and other things. I saw 2002's at Superfest dyno from 337 to 345 with just long tubes, and tuning

Was gone for a few days....but no, I did not get the numbers turned around. The HP and TQ are straight from the dyno sheets. I will be at Superfest and will re-dyno there. I'll post the results for comparison. Thanks for all the input.

Yes I noticed that which means maybe his tuning was off to start with and f/r was off or a very hot day when it was done.
