Woke up this morning, turned on the news and the live breaking news was the U.S. has transferred sovereignty to the Iraqi government a bit ahead of schedule.
This was done, at least in part, so that Iraq could request NATO troop support, and NATO is required to comply with a request from a sovereign nation. Maybe this might reduce a few of our forces, but then again, maybe not. We'll see. At least we're here to watch a "birth" of a new government.

It will be interesting to see how things unfold. Its going to be ugly for a while.
