It was in 1999 when I bought my Suburban. The rebate was applied after the sale and the GM Visa points, of course I only received $750, but, signed it back to the dealer to take off the sale price of the vehicle.

You can have them run the payments both ways before you choose. Cashback is probably going to be better unless your spending alot and financing long term. You should get the $1500 CCard points value either way.
20 days until Camp Cowher.

Somewhat related. I have a CitiBank Driver's Edge no fee full feature platinum card . It only earns 2% vs. the GM Card 3%, however, you can use the earnings on any brand vehicle, new or used, purchased or leased up to the total earning on your card. All you need to provide for documentation is the bill of sale and registration in your name. I've collected once so far. It took about 10 days from when I faxed the request until the cheque arrived. Needless to say my GM Card doesn't see much action anymore.

I have that c/c also......so you don't get the points when you buy the vehicle. You have to send them in after the purchase Posts: 88 | From: New Jersey | Registered: Nov 2003

That's how mine works here in Canada. The time I redeemed it was on a used truck I bought privately.
I found all the redemption information on their website.

I received a notice in the mail a few weeks back, stating that in addition to my GM Card miles ($1500 cap) they're adding $5000 for a total of $6500.
Before I go into a dealer I want to understand that these two are seperate incentives.
Any ideas????
Tom
Hugh, I don't understand your question.... If you have the old blue or gold GM card you could earn a MAX of $1500 per YEAR towards the purchase of a new vehicle. So it sounds like over the past years you have accumulated $1500 bucks. I think they (the GM card) are just adding your points and adding the current rebates to show your "potential" savings....(I've got those mailers in the past) not every GM vehicle has $5000 off... but quite a few do. Hope that helps...?

Sorry, I wasn't that clear. I want to buy a Suburban ($1500 max c/c points), plus a flier on $5000 additional points (or I thought)=$6500.....Now GM is talking about a $5000 rebate(or 0% financing).
That $5000 is one in the same Posts: 88 | From: New Jersey | Registered: Nov 2003
