That was a beautiful Impala SS when I seen it in Tom Henry's showroom. Fully loaded must make it really rare too! Maybe I can dig up a picture of it for you. Posts: 5682 | From: Dearborn,Mi. | Registered: Feb 2002

That car was mint, the person who has it did a really good job on finishing the car, I think Tom did a full frame off restoration on it a little while back this person but the final touches on. Which I had gotten a pic. of it......
May not be a Camaro but it's still a GM product and American Made.............

True...but its back when they were truly "Made in the USA". Those days are gone.
The old Impys are gorgeous cars.
Anybody got pics?

yup..not a Camaro...but has a history.
The dealership used to buy used Company cars from the Pittsburgh Zone office as well as the GM Building in Detroit. We bought one particular group of cars....a Caprice Sedan, a couple of Caprice Estate Wagons (Kingswood Estate in 1969, I believe) and this particular SS Impala from the GM Building fleet....
My uncle drove it as a demo....so did my father...and we sold it to a family in nearby Glenshaw, PA. They traded it on my mom's 1977 Monte Carlo Demo.....and I bought it with 39,000 miles on the odometer. It looked pretty good, but the underneath was kinda nasty. I moved it from home to home from 1977 to 1997. After my father died, there were no demos...and I needed to get my Mom something......so I traded the Impala on a new Lumina for her......cousin Tom did a frame-off...then sold it.....and that was that.
The car has 43,000 miles on it as of this past weekend...and it looks brand new.....
Great to see it has a good home!

Wow! I have not seen a 69 SS 427 Impala since about 1974. This one was a coupe. I was rounding up shopping carts at the grocery store and there she was. Parked not too far away from my 69 Chevelle SS 396.
On the topic of Impalas. I saw a 63 SS with a 409 4spd this weekend at a local cruise in. Red, white vert top, console, etc. Man was it clean!!!

That's awesome! I'm probably the only screwball here who would actually rather have that Impala than a '69 Camaro. I mean, how many of them do you see? Sounds good to me! Posts: 142 | From: Kansas City | Registered: Oct 2002

Sure is a small world Scott and it's nice when things like this happen out of the blue. Had a great time being with you at the show as always and this one did end up special for you huh?
