I have a 2002 SS with the center port SLP exhaust. It is so loud that I can't hear myself talk when the engine is pulling between 1800 and 2500 rpm. The dealer said to quiet it down I would have to put a whole new stock exhaust system on. The Muffler shop said the sound is resonance from the tail pipes. Is there a muffler that will quiet things down without robbing too much power? I would be willing to sacrifice some power to get my sanity back. HELP!

Better get used to it. Almost all the free flowing exhaust systems have a 2K drone. I switched out my dual/dual for a Loudmouth, and the drone definitally kicks in at 1800-2200 rpm. I modified the system with a can muffler, and it helped, but on long trips I still hear it. best thing to do is downshift and raise the rpm's or back off until it goes away. Welcome to high performance!

The Corsa exhaust has no such resonance at 1800-2200rpm. Corsa doesn't sell just their muffler so next best thing might be a Magna Flow muffler replacement.
