1. The Comp T/A is the rarest SLP Engineering model produced.
2. There are no guidelines in any "used car guide" that can be referenced and applied to the value of this car.
3. Like many rare models of the past, this car is worth today, and will be worth more later on, much more than any "blue book" value assigned to it.
4. Unlike models of yesteryear.. when people took huge losses on those vehicles, the Comp TA Owners Assoc. will take a stand for its members and those owners of the cars that want to particpate, in marketing the cars for what they are truly worth NOW, which represents what they will be worth in the future which will be more.
5. no Comp TA sales advertisments will be advertised on this message board from this day on. if you want to sell your CompTA for dirt.. then do it elsewhere. tHose that want a ligitament price for thier comps, please bear with us and advertise elsewhere as well. lets face it..if you want to buy a compTA...this is not the place to look...
6. all adds for comp sales will be deleted from here out. this has been agreed upon by myself and Mike Alford, the founders of the compTA owners assoc.
7. This is a rare TA folks. by selling this car for nothing...for ta bluebook...you are not only defacing the vehicle, but you are hurting the entire thrust of the CompTA Owners nationwide, from being in shows, to pride of ownership. It will not stand.
It behouves all of you and us, to take great pride of this vehicle. only 164 built over a 3 year period. take time to assemble all of the paper work that you hopefully saved when you bought the car, all of the original parts if you saved them, assemble an active package and lable it a "rare T/A".. a tier one vehicle which is the rarest made by the largest tier one upfitter in the Nation. market the car as such. if you need any help, contact mike or myself. we will be more than happy to assist you.

I don't like this censorship at all. Sorry if the value of the car isn't what "YOU" think. If they only sell for peanuts, then peanuts is what you get. So you basically ban freedom to sell the car because they aren't worth anything. I went through this with my Grand National, I couldn't give the thing away. Now they are selling for what they cost new. You have to bear what the market brings and eventually it'll come back over time. But just to ban all for sale ads because you don't like what they sell for is wrong.

All IMHO
first of: your opinions are your right, and thats fine, but
you dont own a comp Ta. this forum is aimed at the Comp TA Owners Assoc., so the Forum tittle reflects. It was given to us by the grace of J.R. Meyer on my request for our owners to use.
And its not what "I" think it should sell for, its what "WE" feel the car is worth, and will be worth some day. Mike Alford emailed me and made this request... so lash out at him as well, Rob...
thats what i thought.
I will do whats best for this car and it's owners first. if you have a problem with that, ignore the thread Rob.

First off, I'd say the same thing to Mike. I wouldn't hold back my opinion for anyone. If you think it was an attack on you, that's your hang up.
Trying to control the worth is a futile effort. Try going to a bank and see what kind of loan you can get. That's what controls the value of the car.
As for not owning one, you got me, I don't. But I come from a family that has 2 of them, so I guess I'm still in the loop.
My problem is withholding someone trying to sell a Comp TA on a Comp TA board. What good is the board if you can't even try to sell one in the first place? You yourself said its for Comp TA owners. Why can't they sell their car and let others have a chance at being a Comp TA owner? From what I remember about the $13500 asking price, which probably brought this on, he has had it for sale a long time.
Like I said, I had the same problem with my Grand National 9 years ago. Same thing he's going through. It's just not worth anything right now. That's the plain truth. Give it time and the value will climb back.

get real.
look at the number of posts on this board. i have the number of hits on this board.
this place is a joke to sell a comp ta.. or even a rolex. let it go dude.
they can take the adds elsewhere. i/we offered to help them.
thats the way it is. the way its gonna be for now.

Yep, its over. You need to get real. Sorry the cars have no value right now but that's reality. I guess if anybody wants to buy a Comp TA, I know not to send them here because you're not allowed to buy one.
I understand frustration of both opinion about vehicle's value. Been there.
I agree with KenC 100% about vehicle being worth more than what market suggest it to be. I feel the same way about my 97SS. I felt it is worth more than what I have been offered. I tried to sell it for long time, but because of poor offer I received, it took too long to sell it until I am to the point where it is less than 12 payments to be paid for (JULY!!) so I decided it is no longer for sale!
And I intend to prove my 30th SS is worth more than what market suggest someday. Yes, only time will tell.
