Hey JK -I have the 6-speed in my 2000 convertible too. I found that after I had about 1800 miles on it, that shift into 3rd got a lot easier. I guess it had to get broken in a little. I've also found that the engine likes to mid-high end of the power band. So, I shift into the next gear at about 5800 rpm at the strip. I snag them pretty hard to make sure I don't miss a shift too.
If your buddy has an 11-second car using nitrous, if he uses the nitrous, you won't beat him if your car is stock. With a stock 6-speed, you'll probably pull around high 13s - low 14s. But, that all depends on where you live (altitude, temperature, track conditions, etc).
Anyway, have fun at the track this weekend. You'll have fun win or lose. But you will want to put more stuff on the car after you're done.
As far as posting pictures, I signed up for Yahoo photos. There, it's real easy to upload digital pictures. Then you only have to post a link to your photo page. Here's mine: http://photos.yahoo.com/reddogcamaross
You can also put the pictures up on your own web server and post a link to the picture. I have put some videos up on the internet of my car. If you want to see them, a friend put them up on his web server for me. Here they are: http://another.dimension.net/efa
Look for the ones with the name Doug on them.
