I have a white(vinyl) top on my 98 vert. The other colored tops are cloth, so you guys might not have this problem. Anyway, the problem is, on my sail panels, there is something down inside the car that is stretching it. There is a nickle size spot that is getting dirty and stretched from hitting something. Now it has started to tear. What can I use to repair the vinyl. Right now the tear is only 1/8 of an inch long, right in the center of the stretched area. Anyone else have this problem or know what is causing this?

We have a spot on our white top that looks like something is trying to poke it's way through. There's a (pardon me) nipple-like protrusion on the sail panel. I'm afraid it's going to wear a hole through!
I'm afraid to take it to a local dealer and haven't seen any other convertibles to compare it to.

That's exactly what I am talking about. Mine is starting to rip. If you find out anything about this, please let me know.

The cloth tops seem to be more elastic than the vinyl tops, so they don't leave "stretch marks", which is one of the reasons why I stayed away from a white top. I've owned 2 previous converts with the vinyl material ('70 Cutlass and '92 LeBaron) and both had the "stretch marks" you referred to. So it's not just these new cars, it's the vinyl.
