I am going to have headers installed on my 95 Z28 A4 3.23 LT1 this winter. I live in Virginia and will probably go with shortie in order to keep car environmental legal. My question is how much did you pay for installation? My first quote was between $400-$500. Is that high?
Please send me some numbers.

Having done a couple headers on LT1s and a set on an LS1...I can assure you, it's not fun especially on LT1s.

I'd say that you should be able to get the quotes down though to about 300.00 It's an ugly job! Just be sure that you do the plugs, and wires at the same time. My recommendation....go with custom cut wires. You can call Angie at Thunder Racing and ask her about her Taylor Spiro-Pro Custom Cut Wire Set. Tell her Gonzo sent ya. She knows me well... Also, ask her about a set of heat sleeves as well. If you're going to do this job, you better do it right the first time! If not...you'll be in hurt locker...trust me, I know. I installed FLP Long Tube Headers on my LT4 and I had the MSD Super Conductor 8.5mm wires that went into the factory looms....to make a long story short, I burnt 2 boots and it was just getting worse. So, be sure to take heed here from those who have been there, done that.
