Does the Loudmouth exhaust work on a 98 RA vert? I would think not because of the crossbrace.

Are they legal for emissions testing? It looks like it is just a straight pipe.

Did you have to cut the stock exhaust out? Doesn't look like it will come out without either cutting or dropping the axle.

yes the LoudMouth is emissions legal - the cats take care of emissions and the LM is a cat-back system. Here's another post about that...emissions testing


The only thing it eliminates is the muffler. It basically is just straight pipes...the resonator doesnt do much.

It is easiest to take the stock system off by making one cut, as close as possible to the front of the rear axle. You still need to get the car off the ground a few feet in order to pull the exhaust off but it is definitely easier and faster to do it this way than to drop the rear end.

put LM on my 2001 ss conv. Sunday started at 2.30 was done by 5.30
jack way up with floor jack Under go jack stands,I cut right by muffler then took panard bar and brace above it loose then right shock lower bolt.Lowered jack alittle to drop axle pulled long pipe out put bar and shock back together installed Lm man is it loud
