Does anyone know of a good clutch for stock t56 trans. I am considering a SPEC clutch for $539 with a sprung disc and Carbon pads. A little pricey The last time I brought the car to the track it was ridiculous. I am running 10.5" ET Streets. It smoked the clutch through 3rd gear before it hooked running embarrassing times (12.87 @ 117.29 2.23 60 ft./ 13.704 @107.68) I let the car cool down for 1 1/2 hours and ran it again with a minimal rolling burnout. It hooked with minor slippage after launch and went 11.564 @ 123.09 with a still unsatisfying 1.836 short time. By the way it is a 383 stroker with low compression & 10 lbs. Procharger.

I was a little confused with respect to your reply to me via email. But personally I would give 2 big thumbs up to McLeod. When I bought my motor it came with an RPS Turbo clutch that was suppose to be rated to 750 HP. After about 500 miles two of the clutch pucks came off. I sent it back and they sent me their 'new and improved' one that gave up after about 2000 miles. I spent as much on having the clutches constantly re and re'ed then just buying the Mcleod in the first place. The clutch has been bullet proof so far and my rwhp is 527.
I bought the Mcleod on a GP form Tbyrne for $750 that included a steel flywheel and a new billet master cylinder.
